Milan and the Portello district
Milan, the capital of Lombardy, Italy’s richest region, is a city about to see enormous change. The Bureau of International Expositions nominated Milan on the 31 March 2008, to organize Expo 2015, formerly the World Trade Fair.
Expo 2015 is expected to use the FieraMilano complex of almost 1.7 million m2,(170 hectares) northwest of the city centre.
To face the challenge of hosting the world’s premier international exhibition, several projects are already in the pipeline, as a result of pressure from occupiers, especially international companies, for higher quality space in Milan. Many of these will be completed in the next few years, providing new and refurbished office spaces and meeting some of the current demand. Residential developments are also planned, in particular a number of “mega-projects” mostly situated in the Fiera area.
In this area we can offer you a property with loft apartments located in via Gassendi 10.
It is situated in the Portello district, notable as the site of the Fiera Milano City.

Fiera takes its name from the International Fair Ground. It is a very pleasant residential area on the west of the centre with various types of housing dating back to the beginning of the 20th century with the more modern 1950's buildings. It is well connected to the centre of Milan with the subway ,trams and buses.
Actually the original fair has been mostly demolished to make place for different projects:
The new Portello project, a former Alfa Romeo industrial area, will host a large urban park as well as residential, commercial and service buildings.
The City Life project will be realized on the old exhibition center area in the heart of Milan, will include the construction of three new towers, one of which 216 m high, the international museum of design and an urban park.
Milan is comparable in importance with the largest developed regions in Europe and constitutes a strategic node not just for the Italian economy but also for Europe and the international community.
