Alassio and the Liguria Region

Alassio is one of the most famous holiday resorts on the Western Ligurian Riviera.

It is in the province of Savona and it is a stretch of land squashed between the sea and the hills, with a splendid green bay opening onto the sea.

If we consider its geographical position, the expansion of its beach, the possibility to swim from March to November, the shallow depth, the gentleness of its climate through the whole year, the quality of the service offered by over 100 bathing establishments and the panoramic view both from Capo Mele and from Capo S. Croce, Alassio must undoubtedly be regarded as one of the best beaches in Italy.

The strand with its very fine grey-white dustless sand stretches over four kilometres to join the seaside hamlet of wonderful Laigueglia.

Alassio is a place where everything talks the language of the sun, the sea, amusements and of sport.

The typical property in demand with purchasers in Liguria would be an apartment/condo close to the seaside. We have an apartment on sale in the town of Alassio that offers ideal accommodation.

With its 11.500 inhabitants it is a town easily reachable by all means of communication: by car, train (the railway station is situated right in the center, in a strategic area) and also by plane (International Airports of Genoa and Nice and, for small planes the one of Villanova d’Albenga a few kilometres away).

Alassio is just 50 kilometers from Savona, Sanremo or from the French-Italian border; Genoa, the capital of Liguria, is 90 Km away.

Liguria is a coastal region of north-western Italy, the third smallest of the Italian regions. Its capital is Genoa. It is a popular region with tourists for its beautiful beaches, picturesque little towns, and food.

A wide, extraordinary range of natural habitats is to be found in Liguria, a thin strip of mountainous land, where human beings have been interacting with the natural environment surrounding them for thousands of years.

Liguria does not only mean sea and mountains: in its one hundred and seventy museums there are collections, cultural values and priceless treasures. Just to give you an example, in Genoa there is the most important museum of oriental art in Europe.
